Mental Health Support
Students today are continuing to learn ways to heal from recent traumatic incidents like wildfires and the pandemic, in addition to regular childhood struggles. Our community also experiences high levels of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), some of which are well over the state and national averages. Chrysalis’ mission is to create “... a community of kindness, respect, and love of learning which encourages the light within each student to shine brighter.” We want school to be a safe and loving environment where all of the needs of our students are met, including mental health. We value the effectiveness of building relationships with our students to gain trust and create a sense of safety.
We are incredibly lucky to have a credentialed school counselor here on campus to support students. Our school counselor enables our kids' lights to shine brightly by providing education, prevention, intervention and support to students. Her work takes place individually, in small groups, whole class, or whole school depending on the needs and circumstances. If your child is struggling with something emotionally, socially, or behaviorally, we want to know and we want to help. It’s important that our students know they do not have to handle their issues alone. There are many resources available for youth who are struggling.
